The assessments carried by RUR centre on Human Robot Interaction (HRI) and associated activities.
The main types of assessment carried out are:
• HRI interface assessments. These assessments are aimed at evaluating the usability and effectiveness of the operator interface in the context of the task and operating procedures. The output of these studies is a list of recommendations regarding possible changes to the operator interface, operating procedures for the robot and / or changes to procedures. These are all aimed at optimising operator mental workload and increasing the efficiency of the operations
• Operator assessment / selection. These assessments are aimed at establishing the key competencies and level of training of potential operators on a range of skills (e.g. Spatial awareness and knowledge of interface functionality).
